Glynndean Suggs, (Glynn), was born on November 26, 1951, in Marks, Mississippi to Willie James Suggs Sr. and Virgil Lee Cotton. She was the first of seven children born to this union.

While attending Pomona High School Glynndean was an athlete who enjoyed basketball and volleyball. After high school, she attended California State University, Long Beach (CSULB).

During her studies at CSULB, Glynndean returned home to help raise her sisters after the passing of her mother. Glynndean continued her education and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from California State University, San Bernardino.

Glynndean accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church, under Senior Pastor Brian E. Kennedy, Sr. and was a faithful attendee at the time of her passing.

Glynndean served as a Social Worker for over 34 years as an advocate for children and special needs adults. Her work was recognized and applauded by the mayor and county supervisors of  Los Angeles.

She enjoyed writing for the Westside Story Newspaper, shopping, sewing, gardening, and showing special love for her dogs Kauai & Diamond. She was a lovable, kind, friendly, wise, and generous person. Glynndean was a great listener and provided unequaled advice.

On September 4, 2016, Glynndean was called home to be with the Lord and to rejoin those who preceded her in death: her mother Virgil Lee Cotton, brother Willie James Suggs Jr., father Willie James Suggs Sr., and close cousin Herman Lee Love.

She leaves her legacy with her daughter, DeShawna Yvette Lang, grandson Andrew Christopher Lang-Reyes, her sisters: Bernice Suggs (Winston) Spratt, Delores Jean (Daniel) Brown, Emma Lee, Gloria Suggs, and Mary (Javon) Winborne. In addition, she selflessly raised her nephews: Daniel Christopher Brown, Delorean Cashe Brown, and nieces: Danietra Jeanaye Brown, and Danieka Jeanelle Brown. Moreover, she also supported other nieces and nephews with her advice and resources. Her special friends were: Jewel Craver, Garthia Poindexter, Angela Jones, and Ellen Rhodes, in addition to many other close friends and family.
