Katie Margaret Nailey was born on July 23, 1953, to Master Sergeant Everett Bell Nailey, Jr. and Barbara Elaine of Memphis, Tennessee. She was the fourth child born to this union.

The family traveled quite a bit due to Master Sergeant Nailey serving in the United States Air Force. In 1969, Master Sergeant Nailey was transferred to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona and relocated his family there. While residing in Tucson, Katie was introduced to the love of her life, Andre Wilkerson. On December 18, 1970, they were married. Born to this union was one child, Sheila A. Wilkerson. In 2015, Katie and Andre celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Katie excelled in all her endeavors. She was a straight A student throughout High School and in College. Her biggest desire in life was to be a good wife, mother and later, grandmother, because family was of utmost importance to her.

She worked a number of jobs throughout her career with the last one being See\'s Candies. She was a dedicated employee who was well-liked by colleagues and customers alike. After 26 years of service. Katie retired on September 11, 2015.

On January 16, 2016, Katie was called home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Sheila A. Nailey (January 1971), Doris A. Britton (December 2000) and Dennis Porter Nailey (May 2005).

She is survived by her husband Andre, daughter Sheila (Gerard), grandson Christian Harris; sisters: Marva C. Horn, Angela L. Nailey and Enid Nailey; nieces: Yolanda Britton, Tina Britton, Tonya Mack, La\'Ree M. Trepagnier (Bryant); nephews Delano A. Nailey and Everett B. Britton.
