Earnestine Walker was born the second eldest of 13 children to Henry and Florence Brown on September 24, 1931, in Bentonia, Louisiana.

Earnestine became a teenage mother to her daughter Christine when they moved from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After getting settled, Earnestine worked at a Bridal Shop as an Assistant Seamstress. While there, she learned to sew very well, and became a Dressmaker.

Earnestine lived in Philadelphia for about seven years. In 1958 she joined her family who had moved to sunny Los Angeles, California. She became a member of City-Wide Mission Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday School and Bible Study. She worked as a Housekeeper to provide for herself and her daughter while living in her mother\'s house.

Years later, Earnestine met Charles Walker (deceased) through her brother Roosevelt Brown. Earnestine and Charles fell in love. In the course of their relationship, they had two sons, Dennis D. Walker and her baby boy Bruce Edward Walker.

Earnestine also worked for Children’s Hospital as a Clerk for several years. After retiring, her greatest joy in life was caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those who preceded Earnestine in death were her parents Henry Brown Sr., and Florence Brown, her son Dennis D. Walker, brothers: James Brown, Roosevelt Brown, Buster Brown and Jerry Brown; sisters Mary E. Brown, and Lela Faniel.

Earnestine leaves to cherish her in loving memories: her devoted granddaughter and caregiver Daffanie Walker, daughter Christine (Alvin) Matthews, son Bruce Edward Walker, brother Henry Brown, sister Harriet Taylor, Tearra Walker, Tiphanie Walker, Deondre Brown, Daveon Walker, Malika Williams, Deondre Walker, Jordon Walker, Sakeena Bruce, Rodney Matthews, Donovin (Maureen) Matthews, Alice Williams, Vicky Brown, sisters: Florence Kelly, Mary Warren, Agnes Bruce, and Donna Kelly; great-grandchildren: Maleah Walker, Jaylon Walker, and Makenzie Walker. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
