Nedgra Mae Haywood was born on December 30, 1921, in Oakland, Mississippi to the late Arrie King and Versie Drake. Nedgra had one brother, L.B. Martin who also preceded her in death.

Nedgra moved to Blythe, California where she met and married Commodore Everett Haywood. They lived in Blythe for many years before moving to Los Angeles, California. Commodore preceded her in death. Nedgra has lived in Blythe for the last twenty years.

Nedgra was very loving, caring, and giving, always willing to lend a hand. She also was feisty and would speak her mind when the situation called for it. Nedgra enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her friends. She enjoyed her family and was a big fan of the TV show Texas Ranger; she would get so involved you would have thought she was the Ranger\'s side kick.

Mrs. Haywood leaves behind to cherish her memories: two nieces who were like daughters, Evelyn (Rozene) Mack of Blythe, California and Sadie Brown of Lansing, Illinois; one sister, Johnnie Mae Jones of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters-in-law: Louise Bars, Geraldine White, and brother-in-law, Marcel Haywood all of Blythe, California; one special cousin, Annette Williams of Lakewood, California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
