LaTinna Avis Smith was born April 25, 1960, in Los Angeles California to Allen and Mildred (Rector) Smith. She attended Los Angeles High School and Saint Maryâs Academy.

In the early 80âs, LaTinna married Rufus Terrell. To this union a beautiful baby girl was born, Jamilah Terrell.

She accepted Christ and became a member of First African Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of Pastor J. Edgar Boyd.

LaTinna was a hard worker throughout her life, but most of all she was a dedicated mother to all 4 of her children. Everyone knew Tinna (her nickname) didnât play when it came to her family & people she loved. She was giving, helpful to others, and her door was always open to whoever needed refuge.

Her life will be forever cherished through the lives of her family and friends. On August 7, 2018, God put his arms around Tinna and whispered âJob Well Done Come Home.â

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children: Jamilah Terrell, Mildred Mitchell, Aneesah Hughes and Kevin Lucas Jr. all of Los Angeles, CA; brothers, Allen Richard Muhammad of Arizona; Steffin D. Smith of Hawthorne, CA; sister; Sharon Smith-Flowers (Aqeel) of Pomona, CA; a stepsister, Cindy Wilson, stepbrother, Mitchell Brown, her two grandchildren, Omari Allen Ali and Gregory Fuller III; a special son, Howard Jones, special niece, Tracey Blackshear; Debbie Thornton her childhood friend, who remained by her side until the end; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
