In Loving Memory of Gertrude Jackson

April 26, 1941 - March 24, 2019

Gertrude Jackson āBerniceā was born on April 26, 1941, to John and Annie Mae Jackson in Birmingham, Alabama. She had seven siblings. The family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1944.

Bernice was raised in the Aliso Village Housing Project. She attended Utah Street Elementary, Hallenbeck Junior High and Roosevelt High Schools. Additionally, she attended classes at East Los Angeles.

She was employed by the Los Angeles County Probation Department as a Group Supervisor for 20 years and worked with minors in Juvenile Hall.

Bernice accepted Christ into her life at an early age. Attending Weller Street Baptist Church

Bernice accepted Christ into her life while at Weller Street Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member for over 50 years. After moving out of Aliso Village, she attended the House of Prayer Church of The Living God and became an Usher for a number of years. She loved to read her bible throughout the day and night.

On Sunday, March 24, 2019, the Lord brought His child home. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Victoria, sister Johnnie Mae, brothers: June Jackson, JimmyJackson, Willie Lee Jackson, Roosevelt Jackson, and Samuel Jackson.

She is survived by her son Vincent Stafford, brother NathanielāNateā Jackson, grandson Jaikier James Jackson and a host of family, and friends.
